Fuzzy Prophet Live

Bio

Fuzzy Prophet is a Richmond, Virginia rock band formed in 2022 by veterans of the city’s music scene. Blurring the lines between melody and abrasion, the band blends crunchy, psych-inspired power pop with harmony-soaked folk and 60s garage influences. At the center of the band are luminous, tightly locked harmonies that carry songs with emotional weight even when the guitars snarl.

Since their debut LP Viral Pop Implosions, Fuzzy Prophet has carved out a prolific and evolving catalog. The first record introduced a knack for sharp hooks wrapped in distortion—power pop refracted through fuzz pedals and moody post-punk angst. The follow-up, Evil Somewhere in the Woods, leaned further into atmosphere and shadow, pairing driving rhythms with darker lyrical undercurrents.

Their latest LP, Mirror Myths and Bad Dreams (released February 12, 2026), marks a striking shift in texture and tone. Steeped in acoustic instrumentation, layered vocal harmonies, and hypnotic organ drone, the record trades volume for atmosphere. Inspired by 1960s folk psychedelia, 70s soft rock, and later neo-folk experimentalists, the album unfolds like a slow-burning meditation — restrained, haunted, and immersive. Harmonies drift like ghosts over distant acoustic guitars while swelling organ tones pulse with strange tension. It’s a headphone record built on mood, memory, and myth—songs that feel both timeless and quietly unsettled.

Just one week after the LP’s release, the band dropped a new EP that pivots yet again — this time toward fuzzed-out guitars, raw energy, and a sharp 60s garage flair. Still anchored by their signature dual harmonies, the EP reintroduces grit and swagger while maintaining the melodic depth that defines their work.

Across three LPs and a steady stream of new material, Fuzzy Prophet continues to expand its sonic palette without losing its identity. Their lyrics often lean dark—dealing in fractured memory, altered states, and uneasy reflections — but their live shows are anything but brooding. High-energy, communal, and loud in all the right ways, the band delivers a dynamic performance that balances intensity with warmth.

Fuzzy Prophet thrives in contrast: city grit and canyon air, sweetness and distortion, shadow and light. At heart, they are a harmony-driven rock band unafraid to drift into strange territory—always searching for beauty inside the noise.
